MUSICAL SCORING
The musical scoring is considering both its technical and artistic aspects, in all its components.
Our sound engineers will apply the mechanical, electronic and digital principles of sound capture, amplification and recording for its application on different platforms: tv shows, radio, television, audiovisual and multimedia.
The musical rules and languages for a musical scoring needs to be well known by a professional audio engineer.

SOUND DESIGNING (sound designer)
By “sound design”, we mean the art of using, organizing, or dressing sound elements.
The sound designer works both in and for the arts of image and multimedia, live performance, art installation, industry and marketing, brand presentation, or brand identity. His approach is both artistic and aesthetic while being part of a production logic integrating the functional, technical, economic, morphological constraints of the object, space or service considered.

We are here to create musical composition and sound design of your projects.

The sound designer / soundtrack creator / musical scoring creator in the context of a show, implements a set of knowledge and know-how allowing him to occupy management, sound engineering, or creation positions. It is a privileged partner of the director both from a technical and artistic point of view.

Sound design, also called sound design or transition sound effects, is a sound process that promotes the immersion of those who listen and the identification of the content. Videos, podcasts, radio, movies, commercials, video games are full of them! And for good reason, the sound design discreetly provides additional information to listeners and reinforces the words.

Sound design is a sound art in its own right which consists of creating and using sounds to achieve the desired effect, most often from a computer. Sound design also involves the manipulation of musical objects or sound bodies. In other words, immediately recognizable sounds: a window breaking, a baby crying. The brain perceives the sound and identifies it. In this way, he can – with or without an image – understand the intention of the subject.

But sound design does not stop there, it is also the companion of the image or the word. In this, he must guide the listener, reinforce the intention or stage it. Sound design is thus placed at the frontiers of music composition and sound effects for multiple types of content.

SOUND EFFECT / FOLEY

Beyond the strictly musical field, the sound designer considers everything that can produce sound, in its treatment as well as in its sphere of application. He transforms and organizes sounds (music production, dialogues, comments, sound effects, etc.) in a creative way and in relation to the narration, where the illustrator uses them as they are.

He can intervene on multimedia objects (video game, website, film, advertising or industrial film, musical recording, etc.) as he can work on the sounds produced by our environment (public places, transport, home automation, etc.). His field of action can encompass the traditional functions of music composer, acoustician, sound editor, sound designer, sound illustrator.

The foley, or sound effect, is the production of sounds necessary for the post-synchronization of audiovisual products.
The sound engineer produces the missing sounds of a soundtrack in a sound studio. Using accessories or software, he recreates sounds synchronously with the image. These are for example human movements (like footsteps, or presence of clothing). The interest is to reinforce the direct sounds and to replace them.

The sound engineer also helps to reinforce certain sound effects present in the soundtrack. It has a multitude of objects and tools carefully collected over the years to produce manually or mechanically unique sounds, synchronous and adapted to the image, or adapted to the soundtrack. In the case of a radio soundtrack, the sound effect engineer will find a way to picture a feeling just through an audio recording, without any video.
The sound effects add a link and a credibility to the image that is not possible to obtain in this configuration of media.
So, the only sound editing, that is going to be the only material, needs to be perfectly done, and will be perfectly done by our recording studio, thanks to our professional sound engineers.

AUDIO MIXING

The audio mastering and mixing intervenes after the video editing, or a first version of a soundtrack editing. It’s the post production of an audio track to make it coherent, professional, and suitable to all the media that can read this audio.
It can be the full soundtrack of a film or advertising video, a music production track, or a sound designing.
In the case of a video project: we select the sound recordings and synchronizes them with the images, sometimes we add some sounds effects, or sounds transitions.
In the case of a music production project: our recording studio engineers will arrange or organize the composition, to have a great music production and post production, clean and professional.
In the case of a podcast: we set a narrative plan, we underline some key moments, we add some sounds effects, we create an interesting montage, we link the records with smooth transitions, etc.

The soundtrack is composed of direct sound, the voices of the actors, ambient and background noises, additions of sound effects. A good audio mixing is going to give coherence and cleanness to your work.

POST PRODUCTION

During post production, the sound engineer collects the recorded sound elements (sound effects, voices, music, etc.) for mixing. He works on the balance of voices, noises, and music production.

MUSIC SUPERVISORS

The music supervisor is the person in charge of managing all the musical and sound elements of an audiovisual work or recording.
The music supervisor is an intermediary between content creators and rights holders. And beware, we are not only talking about entertainment (feature films, series, shorts, documentaries, etc.) but also advertising.

“Architect” of a soundtrack, the music supervisor coordinates all aspects related to music in audio or audiovisual production and sound post production. He is involved in the selection of pre-existing music production as well as in the negotiation of usage rights, the choice of composer or the executive production of the music. The music supervisor can also check and supervise everything linked to the audio engineering, like audio mixing and mastering.

Music supervisor functions:
– Investigate who the rights holders are (authors, publishers, record label that owns the master’s degree, etc.). This prior work is essential since, thanks to knowledge of the market, it makes it possible to identify the right holders who must be contacted in order to obtain authorization more quickly.
– Negotiate with rights holders. The entire process of managing the license and reviewing the agreements. Thanks to his knowledge of the market, he can assess whether the price of the license is well dimensioned. For this, you must also have legal knowledge to assure the producer that everything is correct.
– Creative work: many times the dreamed song does not fit within the production budget. So you have to look for more affordable alternatives. The knowledge and creativity of the Music Supervisor can be key to finding another song that allows the scene to have the same character that the director and the writers were looking for. And much cheaper.
– Management of musical libraries: when the budget is even more limited, library music becomes a more usual ally. In bookstores you can find royalty-free music at a much lower price and, if you have a good music supervisor, the result can be very satisfactory.
– Complete the corresponding documentation that accompanies the work: the music parts, known in the industry as Cue Sheets, are documents that collect minuted each and every one of the musical elements that are integrated in the work as well as all the information about the rights holders and possible restrictions that may apply.

When does a music supervisor come into action?
Obviously, it depends on the conceptual importance that the producers, scriptwriters, and directors of the audiovisual work give to the music, but the ideal is that they participate from pre-production. The way in which a director or cinematographer conceives a sequence, its shots, its duration, or the focus of what they want to convey, can condition the choice of a song.
In any case, their presence is essential during post-production work, working side by side with editors and editors, when the purely administrative part is required of them.

In short, the music supervisor is a transversal figure with a double creative and legal-administrative aspect and who must adapt to the needs of the production.

PODCASTS AND RADIO

There are several categories of sound operator in the radio and podcast world:
The on-air technician manages sound recording, mixing and on-air broadcasting during live broadcasts.
The reportage technician carries out the recordings in the field while the production technician intervenes during the production of fiction or concert recording.
And our sound studio can create radio spots, radio sounds, or we can take care of the mastering and mixing of your recording (post production).

THEATER

Music and sound effects were used to enhance the show. Such as bells, whistles, brass… These effects were integrated into the script to be played at the appropriate times.

FILM MUSIC PRODUCTION

In film production, the sound designer is responsible for the original look of the soundtrack. It can be a musical scoring, or the utilization of an existing track with or copyright search service.

Our sound studio influences range from film music to jazz, classical, pop, electronic and world music. We create sound identities and original music production adapted to each project.

Our sound engineers can also supervise or manage a post production work on an existing film soundtrack.

VIDEO GAMES

The sound design is obviously present in the video game and allows to provide indications to the player. They allow, for example, a sound reading of the action on the screen, or even to provide the player with clues (possibility of interaction with the decor, way of solving an enigma, etc.).
